All about CBI

Promotional chances are good in CBI. You will become an Inspector at max in four years. Don't think that CBI inspector is same as other dept inspectors and why i need to wait for four more years to become an inspector while I directly become an inspector in other departments. Don't get carried away by this idea on the nomenclature used.

Let us understand what a CBI SI can do and can't do. In different words, let us know the advantages and disadvantages of CBI Sub Inspector post. Before you begin reading this, i would like to emphasize that CBI post is one's true conscience and a job with dignity and pride. I personally feel most other posts are just jobs (may not be all). I don't find any kick in regular desk jobs. Not intended to offend anyone.

If you are reading this web page, I assume either you are just selected for the post of SI (Sub-Inspector) in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or passionate for a job in this premier investigation agency. I have updated this blog on  04-Jan-2023  and you can read other articles of this blog here . CBI is also called Delhi Special Police Establishment . From name, it is very clear that CBI is a police force but not that police that generally comes in everyone's mind with a police station, khakhi uniform, guns, lathi, beacon jeeps/cars etc. In this sense, CBI is just a police but not true police.

Many a people have this doubt that when CBI is very powerful, why is that less aspirants opt for CBI or why the cutoff is less for CBI when p ower is the one that everyone wants to have. How to understand this?

Everyone's salary expectation is as much shown above. But no government job might give you that much salary. Let us understand CBI Sub Inspector salary and perks as on Jan-2023
